Use the Email Encryption Add-in

Outlook for Windows and Mac

To navigate to the Encrypt panel in the Outlook desktop client for Windows and Mac:

  1. Open Outlook and sign in.
  2. Select Home > New Email. The New Message pop-up appears.

  4. Select the Encryption Options icon in the Outlook ribbon. The Encrypt panel appears.

The Encrypt panel has been reached. 


Outlook on the Web

To reach the Encrypt panel in Outlook on the web:

  1. Sign in to Outlook on the web.
  2. Select the Home tab > New mail in the Outlook ribbon. A blank message template appears.
  3. If your Outlook is set to have either Classic or Simplified ribbon, the Email Encryption icon may appear in different places.
    • Classic ribbon - Select the Message tab > Email Encryption icon in the Outlook ribbon > Encryption Options. The Encrypt panel appears.

    • Simplified ribbon - Select the Message tab. Then, either select the Email Encryption icon in the Outlook ribbon > Encryption Options, or click the three-dot menu and select Email Encryption > Encryption Options. The Encrypt panel appears.

  4. Note: Ribbon options may display in a different order. The Email Encryption icon appears the same.
