How to get started with your new JumpCloud account

How to get started with your new JumpCloud account.

Prerequisites

  1. You should have received a welcome email from JumpCloud with the subject "Welcome to JumpCloud Directory-as-a-Service." This email includes a link to begin the setup of your new account.
  2. Ensure you are utilizing a desktop web browser. (don't set it from your phone. You will need that in a later step)
  3. Your mobile device is ready to install the JumpCloud protect app on.

New user onboarding


Step 1

Begin by clicking the link "Set Up Account" in the welcome email.   

Step 2

Complete the registration form and create a password. 

It must be 8 characters and contain one of each of the following:
  1. Lowercase
  2. Uppercase
  3. Number
  4. Special character

Step 3

Password accepted! 

Step 4

Login to the JumpCloud Console using your new password.

Step 5

1. Select "Security" from the menu on the left.

2. Then choose "Enroll Device" from the "Multi-Factor Authentication" section

Step 6

Install JumpCloud Protect from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on your device. 

You can open your app store and search for "JumpCloud Protect," or you can click on "View QR code..." on the screen and scan the code to be directed to the store automatically.


Click "I Have The App" once installed.


Step 7

Open the JumpCloud Protect app on your mobile phone and tap the plus symbol in the top right corner. 

Scan the QR code you see on the screen.

Step 8

Now, you will see your mobile phone appear under the Multi-factor Authentication section of the security tab.

Step 9

Login to your company-issued computer using the new password you just created.
